What counts as an emergency?
- Breathing difficulty — open-mouth breathing, bluish gums
- Uncontrollable vomiting or diarrhoea — especially if bloody
- Trauma — car accident, fall, bite wound
- Inability to urinate (especially urgent in male cats)
- Suspected poisoning — chocolate, grapes, onion, detergents
- Seizure or loss of consciousness
- Difficult labour during pregnancy
What should I do in an emergency?
First, stay calm. Call the clinic (0551 892 99 62) and briefly describe the situation. Keep your pet stable during transport and apply clean gauze pressure to any bleeding. Never give human medication — many are toxic to cats and dogs.
What about outside of working hours?
Call us any time — we assess the case and either arrange admission or direct you to the nearest 24/7 emergency clinic in the region. Keeping the owner informed is our priority.
