What is digital X-ray?
Digital X-ray is a modern imaging method that uses a digital sensor instead of classic film. Exposure time is measured in seconds, dose is 30-70% lower, and the image appears instantly on screen. Images are stored in a digital archive and can be emailed for a second opinion when needed.
When is it required?
- Suspected fracture, dislocation or trauma
- Coughing or breathing difficulty (chest)
- Vomiting or bloating (abdomen)
- Suspected foreign body ingestion
- Bladder or kidney stones
- Health screening in senior pets
Is sedation required?
In most cases no sedation is needed. In painful or very active patients, light sedation may be used to improve image quality.
